About us

Humbugs is one of Lancashire's oldest and most established sweet shops selling only quality sweets and confectionery from the UK and around the World. Surrounded in the centre of Lancaster, by high street chains we've quietly built a growing following of customers with some travelling far and wide for their favourites.

To cater for these customers we delivered our first e-commerce site back in 2003 and became one of the first to offer an online shop selling sweets and confectionery. Thankfully it's been such a success that we're now on "version three" and we've also established Humbugs Online. Despite greater competition we've thrived on simple principles of offering the best products and the best service we possibly can. It is what has made our Lancaster shop fare so well and also our online presence too.

If there's a confectionery item we don't stock we'll be more than happy to try and source it for you, email us the details and we'll do our best.

Should you wish to visit our shop you'll find over a thousand confectionery items on sale, many in their original glass jars. Our sweets come from across the UK and Europe, though we also specialise in local Lancastrian and Cumbrian items. Many of our products are extremely difficult to find anywhere else and we have some items that are completely unique to Humbugs.

We've sent parcels of sweets across the World, including the USA, Canada, Poland, Romania, Norway, Australia and China. Whether you're based in Preston or Peru, we would be delighted to satisfy your sweet tooth !
